Jonathan Tee is a Partner at Oak Rose Group and a cross-sector leader with 25 years of experience in organizational leadership, operational effectiveness, nonprofit fundraising, public policy, and strategic communications. He is known for his ability to translate complex strategy into practical action, helping organizations build the systems, relationships, and plans required to grow their impact and sustain their work over time.
At Oak Rose Group, Jonathan manages day-to-day firm operations and serves a diverse portfolio of clients. His client work centers on facilitating strategic and business planning processes, designing operational and programmatic implementation plans, developing communications and fundraising strategy, and strengthening governance structures and board practices.
Prior to joining Oak Rose Group, Jonathan spent 14 years at ACE Scholarships, a Colorado nonprofit providing scholarships to low-income children to attend private K–12 schools. He joined as Communications Director in 2007 and later added the role of Chief Operating Officer, which he held until 2021. During his tenure, Jonathan oversaw business operations, program and policy initiatives, and fundraising strategy, helping grow ACE from 600 students in Colorado with $5M in annual revenue to more than 7,000 students across eight states with $35M in revenue. In that time, ACE became the only scholarship-granting organization in the country to operate both privately funded and tax-credit supported programs across multiple states.
Earlier in his career, Jonathan served as Communications Director for the Colorado Secretary of State, advising on elections and campaign finance policy. He previously worked in legislative affairs at a national association and as a political campaign operative, including as communications director for a nationally targeted open-seat congressional campaign in 2006.
Jonathan also serves as Chief Operating Officer of the Oak Rose Fund, a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor advancing education reform, workforce development, and economic mobility. He is a member of the American Enterprise Institute's Leadership Network and serves on the board of Chance Sports. He is a founding board member of Girls Athletic Leadership School and previously served as board president of Highline Academy Charter Schools and on the board of Goodwill of Colorado.
Born in Stirling, Scotland, Jonathan immigrated to the United States at age 12. He holds a BA in History from Hillsdale College, where he was a student-athlete on the baseball team. He lives in Colorado with his wife and their daughter.
